Position Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics. A Master's degree will be an added advantage
  • CIMA/ACCA/BICA part qualified

Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in financial analysis, business performance evaluation, or a related role within the financial services industry.

Certifications

  • CFA/CPA or similar professional qualification would be an added advantage

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and industry standards relevant to financial institutions.
  • Experience with financial systems (ERP, CRM, etc.) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience and knowledge in finance operations

 

Skills

  • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to data accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong proficiency in financial modelling, data analysis, and using software/tools like Excel, financial databases, and business intelligence platforms.

  • Solid understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and financial performance metrics.

Analysing and interpreting financial data to provide insights that drive strategic decision-making and enhance business performance.

 

Critical Deliverables /Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

  • Utilize financial modelling and data analysis techniques to evaluate business performance, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial and operational data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare regular reports, presentations, and dashboards that communicate financial insights to stakeholders and management.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics, highlighting areas of concern or opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct in-depth variance analysis to explain deviations from budgeted/forecasted performance and assist in creating solutions to address these variances.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, providing insights and data-driven justifications for financial projections.
  • Support strategic initiatives by providing financial analysis for business cases, investment decisions, and new projects.
  • Identify process inefficiencies and contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting and analysis.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in financial analysis to ensure the accuracy and relevance of analytical methodologies.
