Purpose of the Job: 
The EOD Processing Supervisor is responsible the administration, optimization and support of all Group batches on the core banking system, channels and other Group business applications by working with the business to analyses business requirements, provide technical expertise and ensure the availability, security and stability of the business applications. 
 
Principal Accountabilities:
 
1. Ensures that all batches are performed on time and all night mode transactions are closely monitored. Keep up to date with the Core Banking System architectural components, transaction processing workflow at the components / database objects level, frontend functionality and backend objects. 
2. Works with application support analysts to insure that all Core Banking System parameterization, user creation, granting or revoking rights requests raised by business are implemented before starting EOD batches. 
3. Register issues in the Vendor’s helpdesk system by providing a detailed information (error screenshots, table rows, and logs from a required source) about an issue. Further track of open issues by timely acting on a Vendor’s requests
4. Working with the ESM Manager to ensure that tools and monitoring configurations are continuously improved to ensure that 24/7 monitoring of systems, services are enabled, and uptime maintained.
5. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
6. Ensure that all Core Banking System related processes (End of Day, Beginning of Day, etc) are smoothly done.
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, math or engineering or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Requires a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in supporting batch processing and or applications and in particular a core banking system and related channels (advantage)
3. Basic SQL/Oracle DB, Linux experience and qualification will be an added advantage.
4. Management skills to manage teams of people
5. Strong communications skills
 
Thinking Requirements and Working Complexity:
 
Position requires the candidate to be highly proactive and adaptable to new technologies and directions. 
Good planning and documentation skills are required. Ability to work unsupervised is required.
Due to the nature of position, afterhours and weekend, work is expected sometimes for planned changes, or support.
Travel to Letshego subsidiaries in Africa is expected.
