A job vacancy has arisen within the Operations Department of Letshego Bank Namibia for the above-mentioned position, the details of the role are outlined below:
 
Purpose of the Role:
1. Coordinate the alignment of the Core Banking and E-Channels Applications to fit the Company’s Strategic objectives
2. To cascade the Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) vision and provide day to day direction to the IT Team in accordance with the Company’s objectives.
3. Ensure the Company’s strategic technology projects deliver the required business value within the agreed budgets and timelines.
4. Lead the development and implementation of integrated business and technology solutions for the Company as approved by the business.
5. Ensure that the Information Technology services are provided to all internal and external customers across the organization.
6. Responsible for the development and implementation of end to end business IT governance and risk mitigation strategies and programmes in line with industry standards.
7. Responsible for the development and implementation the company’s cyber security strategy, architectural and governance frameworks.
8. Awareness and understanding of emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, Data Mining/Analytics, block chain, and the levering off these technologies for the creation of a strategic competitive advantage for the company.
 
Key Responsibilities:
1. Keep abreast with the evolving Core Banking and E-Channels System architectural components, transaction processing workflow at the components / database objects level, front-end functionality, Device Management and backend objects.
2. Keep abreast with the evolving Cyber Security architectural components, occurring threats, threat management, incident / response management and evolving cyber security landscapes.
3. Keep abreast with the evolving financial technology (FinTec) architectural developments.
4. Keep abreast with the evolving information technology architectural components, ensuring resilience, agility, efficiency and return on investment.
5. Alignment of information technology strategy to the core business strategy to enable business to achieve business objectives.
6. Serve as the organization’s technical advisor on the Company IT infrastructure and key abilities associated with the technology functions of the investments made by the Company.
7. Perform and/or provide guidance on information technology systems to the business and technical committees, on the system capabilities and functionality to enhance business potential as well as reduce risks with added capability and closure of gaps in the solutions.
8. Foster strategic partnerships with key information technology vendors / provider to enhance business value.
9. Design and develop an optimal information technology support structure aimed at continuous improvement of administration, support, monitoring services, and completion of projects efficiently and effectively.
10. Continuously seeks to improve user satisfaction and ultimately customer satisfaction, loyalty and retention by ensuring the department provides an excellent user experience.
11. Set standards associated with data confidentiality, integrity of corporate data, proprietary information and intellectual property, and ensure that these are implemented across all systems in the information technology environment.
12. Adhere to strict governance procedures when executing his/her job responsibility including but not limited to security, change control, administration, segregation of duties , batch processes etc.
 
People Management:
1. Provide mentoring and leadership to subordinates within the department and organization at large, and serve as a role model for the Company
2. Partner and align with business and vendors on infrastructure in developing technology / product strategies.
3. Promote teamwork, within own department and across the business.
4. Work with the Human Resource function to promote key awareness of technology, information security and sensitivity of customer and financial data across the Company
5. Responsive for staff performance measurement and development as defined within the Company
 
IT Governance:
1. Adheres to strict governance procedures when executing his/her job responsibility including but not limited to security, change control, administration, segregation of duties , batch processes etc.
2. Understands and comply with all IT policy and procedures and ensure that these adhered to the highest level of controls.
3. Address control weaknesses and/or audit queries promptly and close all items before the designated closure date.
4. Monitor access rights according to policy and ensures that access is reviewed and updated in accordance with organization / business requirements.
5. Create IT Policies and procedures that are aligned to; Company risk management framework, business objectives, country regulatory requirements and international best practice, as applicable.
 
Knowledge & Experience should include:
1. Grade 12 certificate, (25 points) original certified
2. Tertiary qualification in computer science, computer engineering, Information technology or related technical qualification from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. At least 8 years of technology experience of which at least 5 years have been in a leadership role that have multitude of business and technical demands
4. Proven experience in the development of a new Banking will be an added advantage.
5. Proven experience in development of a fintec banking environment will be an added advantage.
6. Preferred leadership experience in the Banking Sector with a technical understanding of Core Banking and E-Channels applications and Digital Channels with a firm understanding of governance and industry standards in the technology that facilitates these solutions
7. Leadership experience in managing large cross-functional technical teams and the flexibility to influence people at a variety of levels both internally and externally.
8. Demonstrated the ability to conceptualize, launch and deliver multiple technology projects on time and within budget
9. Proven experience in create a cyber security strategic and management frameworks.
10. Required IT industry certifications;
- Governance (eg. Isc2, corbit)
- Cyber Security ( eg. Cissp, CISM)
- Infrastructure ( eg. Ccie, Nse )
