Introduction

Specification
Responsible for M&A and divestment activities by sourcing, evaluating and executing M&A transactions. Lead transactions in new areas of growth and support/act as M&A service provider to the SBUs in areas of current presence or in divestment transactions
Organize and lead internal deal teams consisting of M&A associates and analysts, SBU specialist and Corporate Core function representatives to effectively execute M&A transactions and ensure smooth integration into existing operations
Devise deal rationale and value creation levers, target description, screening and long-list of potential opportunities; conduct financial analysis and valuation; prepare risk register and project roadmap; select and appoint external advisors
Conduct preliminary and detail functional due diligence and select short-list of potential targets; prepare high-level negotiation strategy; prepare potential deal structure and supporting documentation
Support post-M&A integration along with the respective SBUs and ensure transition into normal operations
Drive geographic rebalancing of the group subsidiaries and rationalization of existing markets
As a part of the strategy team, support Chief Corporate Development Officer to drive implementation of corporate strategy in a form of actionable strategic initiatives, take leadership of initiatives related to M&A and divestments
Monitor and evaluate existing portfolio of assets and subsidiary companies to identify strategic divestment opportunities, develop exit strategies and communicate recommendations to executive leadership as appropriate
   
Requirements
University degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or equivalent with relevant experience in M&A and relevant financial aptitude
MBA or equivalent
10+ years’ experience preferably in investment management or investment banking role
10 years in a senior management position
Demonstrated experience and expertise in driving rapid and successful strategic M&A / JV initiatives
Demonstrated experience leading major performance uplift efforts in corporations or divisions
Demonstrated track record of building strong trust-based counselling relationships with line managers, senior executives and industry entities
