Purpose of the Job:
The business analyst's primary objective is helping businesses implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators and partners. 
Business analysis is the set of tasks and techniques used to work as a liaison among stakeholders in order to understand the structure, policies, and operations of an organization, and recommend solutions that enable organizations to achieve its goals. The role of the Business Analyst (BA) is that of a person who interfaces with the customers to understand their requirements. This role is distinct from that of a technical designer of software solutions who works on the basis of the requirements gathered by the Business Analyst (BA).
Key Accountabilities:
1. Provide Core Banking Application Support;
2. Defines and documents process flows related to IT business systems;
3. Consults with functional unit management and personnel to identify, define and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, and levels of systems access;
4. Analyzes the feasibility of, and develops requirements for, new systems and enhancements to existing systems; ensures the system design fits the needs of the users;
5. Tracks and fully documents changes for functional and business specifications; writes detailed universally understood procedures for permanent records and for use in training;
6. Identifies opportunities for improving business processes through information systems and/or non-system driver changes; assists in the preparation of proposals to develop new systems and/or operational changes; 
7. Plans, organizes and conducts business process reengineering/improvement projects and/or management reviews of bank-wide significant or specific to a bank division (Examples are projects requiring strategic analysis of an entire process or operating area where specific issues or items to be corrected, examined or recommended have not been identified. Recommended solutions should be developed in consultation with impacted internal and external stakeholders, but should remain objective and independent of the specific stakeholders.);
8. Researches and prepares statistical reports using data from banking systems and internal surveys. Consolidates information into cohesive and understandable correspondence or other written form for use in management decision-making; 
9. Participates in user acceptance testing and testing of new system functionality;
10. Provides technical assistance in training, mentoring, and coaching professional and technical staff;
11. Develops training curriculum and conducts formal training sessions covering assigned systems module;
12. Directs or participates in studies of new and existing programs and special projects to determine feasibility, resolve problems including organizational, procedural, and  technical analysis; develops policy and procedures to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and/or improve internal and external customer service; develops information system documentation to support efficient Bank operations; prepares reports and written findings and recommendations; and monitors changes;
13. Provides work direction to one or more technical or clerical staff or acts as a team lead on designated projects or assignments
 
Required Knowledge and Skills:
 
Consistently demonstrated ability to exceed the requirements of Senior Software Engineer/Senior QA Engineer/Senior UI Engineer
3+ Years of relevant industry experience. 
Degree/Diploma or Industry certified technical qualification (Sun Certification/ Microsoft Certification/ PMP Certification / BCS Certification) 
Technical: 
Sound Engineering systems concepts and principles 
Technical computer knowledge 
Complex modelling techniques 
Technical writing

Analytical and conceptual expertise 
Planning, documentation, analysis and business requirements management techniques  
Object-oriented analysis

Project Responsibilities
Business Process Analysis  
Understand what the business does and how it does it 
Determine how to improve existing business process 
Determine which tasks/steps to automate (identify scope and get the requirements) 
Design the features of IT systems (create functional requirements) 
Implement the new features of the IT system (technical design) 
 
Technical Recommendation and Testing 
Co-ordinate testing efforts with QA 
Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on, and resolved in a timely manner. 
Works with client personnel to identify required changes. 
Communicates needed changes to development team. 
 
Project Execution
Assists in enforcement of project deadlines and schedules. 
Takes input from supervisor and appropriately and accurately applies comments/feedback. 
Communicates and applies project standards. 
Manages resources in accordance with project schedule. 
Consistently delivers high-quality services to our clients. 
Understands the components of running a fiscally successful project. 
 
Typical Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office environment; continuous contact with other staff and/or the public. 
Occasional overtime and travel to outside branches is required.
