Solutions Architecture Lead (Lending)

1. Main Purpose (Why does the exist)

To conceptualise, design and oversee the development of lending solutions that meet both current and future business needs. This role focuses on ensuring that lending solutions are aligned with business objectives while integrating best practices to ensure efficiency, resilience, scalability, and security.

2. Critical Deliverables /Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
   • Engage with stakeholders to capture and understand lending requirements and challenges.
   • Design solutions that align with the organization's lending strategy and Enterprise Architecture, optimizing for cost, performance, and user experience.
   • Collaborate with other architects and IT teams, and digital to ensure interoperability, integrations and alignment between systems.
   • Address and resolve any technical challenges or bottlenecks that arise within lending solutions.
   • Provide support during solution implementation and post-implementation phases.
   • Ensure that solutions comply with industry regulations and standards, especially regarding data privacy, security, and governance.
   • Ensure lending solutions adhere to regulatory and compliance requirements.
   • Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in the lending space, providing recommendations for innovation and improvement.
   • Mentor developers and juniors on best architecture practices, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

5. Education, Knowledge and Experience of Job Holder:  

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• Post Graduate degree or certificate in Financial Technology, Banking or related discipline is advantageous.
• 6+ years in IT or Financial technology, with a minimum of 3 years focused on lending solutions or platforms including core banking platforms.
• Proven experience in the design, implementation, and optimization of lending systems.
• Familiarity with loan origination, credit scoring, risk assessment, and loan management processes.

• TOGAF or equivalent EA Framework (Preferred)
• AWS or Azure Solutions Architect Certification (Optional)

• In-depth knowledge of lending solutions, both traditional and digital platforms.
• Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance related to lending and credit risk.
• Awareness of global financial trends and how they impact lending processes and solutions.
• Understanding of integration between lending systems and other financial systems (e.g., banking, insurance).
• Strong knowledge of solution architecture, data modelling, and application/software development.
• Acquaintance with key industry frameworks, standards and regulations, such as BIAN, GDPR, DPA

6. Skills

• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Proficient in stakeholder management, able to drive consensus and manage varying viewpoints effectively.
• Adept at facilitating workshops and collaborative sessions to derive requirements and define architectures.
• Strong analytical, logical analysis, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to translate complex technical information into business language and vice versa.
• High proficiency in using architecture tools and software for design, modelling, and analysis.
• EA modelling skills (ArchiMate, UML, ERD, BPMN, DMN)
• Ability to translate complex lending requirements into actionable solutions.
• Proficient in Core banking and lending systems and platforms.
• Understanding of cloud solutions, technologies, and security practices
• Familiarity with DevOps principles, practices, and tools
